Hold onto your hat!
Wow what a windy day, my day started off at 3am when the power went out for the first time only to come back on. I went down stairs to check the time so I could reset the alarm for my husband. Just as I was settling back into bed it went out again. This time I went down stairs to grab my husband’s cell so he had an alarm. At 4am the phone rings and my husband is called into work. Matt is a snow plow driver so in the winter time he is on call 24 hrs. It is now 9:30pm and he is sound asleep, he was home with us for 3hrs today in between shifts. Long enough to have our 4 year anniversary dinner. I watched the news to see just how high the wind got today 45 mph can you believe that.
With my power out for most of the morning I had nothing better to do than knit. I started a pair of socks for my mother. These socks are little different from the other 15 or so pairs I have made. Mom doesn't like the high cuffs she is an ankle sock lady. I will be putting up the pattern later next week
Happy knitting!

My first entry
So I have been discussing starting my own blog with my mother-in-law, and she talked me right into it. I will be putting up my latest knitting projects as well as my sewing. I also can’t help but discuss what my 2 lovely little girls are up to.
My mother-in-law taught me how to knit three years ago, I love it. I also sew but knitting is my passion. I can do it with my eyes closed heck, I bet I do it in my sleep. I have done so much knitting this summer. I made homemade slippers for everyone in my family for last Christmas. After the first of the Year I started on this years presents. I started off with leg warmers, where I live these are regular attire, After that I started on a back pack for my 4 yr old Missle. I was taught how to cable that was fun 2 hats and a scarf later I moved on to socks. After 23 pairs I started on wash cloths these are my favorite knitting project. My husbands great-grandmother gave theses out as Christmas presents for ever from what I was told. She passed away last November so my mother-in-law and I decided to keep this tradition going.
Knitted wash cloths
For this project you will need:
1 skein of wash cloth yarn (Peaches & Cream )
Size 8 knitting needles
Cast on three
row 1: knit across
row 2: slip 1, knit 1, yarn over, knit 1(you will now have 4 stitches)
continue to do row 2 until you get to 40 stitches
After this you will start to decrease
decrease: Slip 1, Knit 2 together, yarn over, knit 2 together
continue to do this until you have only 3 stitches remaining on your needles
cast off .
Your wash cloth should look like a square if not don't feel bad the first 3 or 4 I made were horrible. Just pull into shape, the more you make the better they will get.
Happy knitting!
