Looking back

I have been helping my mom start to clean my Grandma's room up a little. She has been gone for almost 3 months. I can't believe it, I miss her so much. Every place I look I see something that reminds me of her. It might be something she gave me, or made me. When I was younger she used to do needle point. When I was about 10 she made me this sweet shirt with a unicorn on it. I still have it to this day, she also made me a crochet poncho. I also have that. I saved every card she ever gave me to. I have several picture of her around my house and when I look at them I just smile and think back of all the time we got to spend together. I miss her like crazy though.

Gingerbread House Destruction

Ok so do you remember the houses the girls made for Valentine's day? We decided that they had been around for a little to long. I have caught the cats licking them and I'm sure my dog has licked them to.This time a year there isn't anything to exciting to do around here so, Matt asked the girls how they wanted to dispose of them. Hailey wanted to take an axe to hers. Missy decided that she wanted to catch hers on fire and watch it burn! It sounds a little strange but they actually had fun doing it. Matt told me that he wants to make it a Valentine's Day tradition, just making the houses not burning them.

1 busy day!

Today I did 1 of my 2 internships. I was at an urgent care for 10rs. I had alot of fun. It was busy, I didn't get to sit down once. I have another 1 tomorrow up to Pulmonary. I went over to moms this weekend. I started off by asking her to see something in Grandma's room, and she took me in and started going through things. I have to take 5 cases of her Feedings to the Dialysis unit to donate. She also gave me 2 bags of hospital linen to take back. Mom then decided it was time to go through Grams cloths. We donated all her pants and a few pairs of shoes. Her tops and coats I am going to make a quilt out of. Mom didn't want to just get rid of them.
This is a picture Grandma took of the girls 1 day when we went to target. She went every place with that camera. Looking back now, I'm glad she did.

Vacation!

I had school today, and I don't have to go back till the 28th! I am so happy, I have 10 days off. But have to do 2 different 10 hour internships. I'm going to do 1 of them at urgent care across from the
college on Coffeen and the other 1 at Grandma's old pulmonary Dr.
I had to go with Lacey and Jesse to put their dog down today after school. she is pretty upset tonight, then she gets home and has no power. The past 2 days have been so nice here, warm and wet. We have lost alot of snow, but it is going to start snowing tonight. 2-3" tonight. We have dinner at moms tomorrow. It is Richard's birthday so mom is making lasanga. mom has been doing better; she even sent the girls valentines cards in the mail.

Valentine's Day

Today is Valentine's day and the girls and Matt put Christmas ginger bread houses together. I bought them from Walmart for $1.00 how funny! They were so excited to do these. The girls had there partys today in class. They said they had fun and they got alot of candy and plenty of valentines. On my way home from clinical I stopped to get the 2 things my girls have been begging me to make for dinner; mashed potatoes and steak. As I was doing my homework The girls did their houses. I am almost positive they ate more candy than they put on the houses. Matt and I couldn't really do much tonight for dinner or anything, due to him having to be on call every night. So when spring comes he said he is going to take me out and he will make all the plans. How sweet, he isn't the romantic type so we will see.

Snow

Melissa and I went over to Walmart today. When we pulled in we saw that the parking lot had been cut almost in half by 10 of these huge snow banks. I couldn't believe the size of them so I made Missy stand by 1 of them to show just how big theses piles were. Last weekend at moms Lacey and I took the girls outside this was a hard picture to get of all 4 of them. Hailey wanted to slide down the hill, Missy wanted to go make a snowman, and Destiny wanted to go in. I have had a test every day since I started LPN 2 so i've been doing alot of homework. Today all I have thought about is my grandma. I had to write a small paper for class about an ethical medical issue so I wrote about making the decision to extubate Grandma.

Will it ever stop snowing?

It was so beautiful today. The sun was shinning and reflecting off the snow. Granted it was -13 this morning, but it was a nice day. I had to stay after class today to get some paper work for my internships. I have to do two different 10hr internships at a hospital, or something along that line. When I left Watertown at 4pm it was a white out. I got to Theresa and the sun was shinning. It is snowing like crazy out right now, they say there are two different storm fronts coming through. We are supposed to get up to 10"tonight and tomorrow. Matt is so exhausted, he forgot what day of the week it was. When I sent the girls to bed they were crossing there fingers for a snow day, I think I will do the same.

My snow plowing hubby

Matt got up at 5am this morning to got to work. He usually gets home before I do, but not today. I shoveled the driveway twice, carried wood in, made dinner, and even baked brownies. Me and the girls were just sitting down to dinner when he walked in the door. I was happy to see him, but he was grumpy. He said he had enough time to eat dinner before having to go back in to work to try and clean up the roads. He went back in at and he will probably be rolling in at 11:30 or so, go to sleep till 3am and do it all over again.

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

It has been snowing here like crazy the past few weeks. I have never seen this much snow on the sides of the road and in my driveway. There is so much I don't have anyplace to put it any more. Matt has been out everyday for the past 2 or 3 weeks. I'm not sure all the days are starting to blur together. They sent us to school today, even though the weather was horrible. I saw 3 people off the road on the way there today. We took a test and then they let us go home. My drive home was awful. I went 35mph the whole way. Then when i got home I had to shovel even to get in my drive way. Thankfully my wonderful father-in-law had already started on it. He did the end for me and out by the mail boxes. Those are the 2 hardest spots for me. I'm crossing my fingers for a snow day tomorrow, but just my luck it will clear up over night and be fine.

Old pictures

My Aunt sue posted a few old pictures she had found, on my face book account. I'm not sure where this 1 of all 5 of us was taken, i'm going to show mom and see what she says. The other 1 is me, no mistaking. That head is a dead give away.The 1 on the bottom is my mom and dad. I was explaining it to mom last night and she said it was taken in Philly at my Grandmothers old house. I thought for sure it had to have been taken at 1 of my grandmother's houses, due to the fork. She always had this huge wooden fork and spoon me and Lacey used to play with. Aunt Sue is going to post more soon but I wanted to share these 3 with you.

Snow baby!

We went to mom's yesterday for dinner. Matt had to say home because they were calling for some more snow. Me and Lacey took the girls outside to play on the big snow piles in the driveway. Missy and Hailey did good, they are used to being out side. Destiny was good at first, then she got very upset. She was having a hard time walking in the snow. It was up past her waist. She started to cry, so Dede took her in and changed her. she was soaked!

1st test in class

I had my first test in LPN 2 today and I got an 83. not to bad, but could have done better. I was getting 95s last semester. The LPN 2 students told us it would be hard but I wasn't expecting this hard.


This is an old picture of Missy on my wheeler. Living out in the woods we each have 1. Matt has a Honda Recon, I have a 4x4 wolverine, and Hailey was just given a breeze. Matt has to do some work on it before we let her have it. Matt wants to make an alteration to its speed. She has been driving mine and Matt's wheelers since she was big enough to reach the gas, so she will do fine. Missy on the other hand goes a little to fast, so I wont let her drive yet.
This picture was taken last spring. It had rained all night and the next day I told the girls they could go play in the mud. They were so excited and muddy.

Our 1st dinner

This was our 1st dinner in our house. We moved everything in that day. we didn't have a table to eat on, or even a stove to cook on. But we did it! We worked on the house for months and could have continued to do work, but we just picked a day and moved all our stuff. The first night was rough Hailey slept pretty good; but she can fall asleep any place. Missy had a hard time. I don't think she slept 3 hours that night.

We had a snow day today. All the schools in Jefferson County closed for the day. they were calling for 12-18inches today, but I don't think we got that much. it was supposed to be really windy also . Matt got called out at 4:30am came home at 3:00 and went back out at 5:00. I'm not expecting to see him before I go to bed tonight. But at least winter is almost over! Hailey and Matt were pretty excited to get this snow storm so they can build a big snow fort.

Oh how my girls have grown

I can't believe how fast my girls have grown up. Hailey was doing multiplication for homework
today, and even Missy had homework! They are learning to read in kindergarten. Both Hailey Missy have had growth spurts since Christmas.
This picture was taken a little after Missy turned 1, Grandma was in Carthage hospital. when she finally got better the only thing she wanted was 1/2 of a jreck sub. she begged me to bring the girls up to see her and bring her lunch. We took up her lunch that day and the girls and I played a game of bingo with her. She even shared her lunch with the girls. I was there when she was admitted to the ER. When I went back a few days later it was like she wasn't ever sick. She always bounced back so well. I miss her dearly and think about her everyday. This picture of the girls is from 1 of the many days we were working on the house, we weren't moved in yet. I had just gotten done painting the outside and were getting ready to go back home. We put in so many hours of work to get in that house! I will post some more pictures from our 1st night in the house later this week.
